Hannah Cornish, NQGP Fellowship Deputy-Lead
Hannah is a GP in Wiltshire. Having been a part of the Training Hub’s Newly Qualified Fellowship Scheme, she now helps support and promote the scheme to other newly qualified GPs.
Primary and community care hubs started in 2015 and are funded by Health Education England.
BSW Training Hub was formed on 1 April 2020 when three Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) merged to form the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG, now Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon & Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (ICB). The ICB host the BSW Training Hub.

Jack started his career in primary care in November 2022 as Medical Secretary for a GP practice, following a role within pharmacy. He has since taken on other responsibilities, including practice finances, workflow, and safeguarding administration lead. Jack has joined the BSW Admin Fellow team one day each week to champion the use of digital tools to improve the way GP Practice’s operate and help improve workforce wellbeing and retention.
Ros is a salaried GP and busy mum of three little boys in Swindon. She previously worked in the homeless sector and on community health projects abroad, and as part of her GP training she spent a year working in a rural hospital in South Africa. She has always had an interest in equitable access to health care and ‘global health’, and she is therefore very excited to combine some of these interests in her new fellowship position looking at healthcare for asylum seekers and refugees.
Chelsea started her career in Primary Care in 2019 as an Administrator in a large GP practice. In May 2022, Chelsea joined BEMS as an ARRS Project Manager, focusing on the recruitment and employment of staff employed on behalf the PCNs in BANES under the ARRS Scheme. Currently, Chelsea’s role focuses on helping to establish more support directly for Practice’s in BANES; she has joined the BSW Admin Fellow team one day a week to champion the use of digital tools to improve the way GP Practice’s operate and help improve workforce wellbeing and retention.
Michelle started working in primary care as a receptionist six years ago after working for the MOD. She has progressed through various roles, including pharmacy dispenser, whilst working in two different practices. She has gained experience in different areas of clinical administration. Michelle is currently a reception supervisor, leading and developing a team in various stages of their own roles. She is also H&S lead for The Castle Practice.
She is constantly expanding her own knowledge and challenging herself, and has now joined the Training hub as an Admin fellow.
Shaya has worked in the NHS for 7 years and during her time has progressed into a managerial role within primary care. Her background has been predominantly leading administration and reception teams. Shaya has now joined the training HUB as an Admin Fellow.
Roger is Senior Project Manager for BEMS, a GP Federation, working closely with PCNs and Practices across B&NES. His role supports the Training Hub in promoting and facilitating training and education opportunities, and student placements in Primary Care. Roger has 23 years’ experience in Primary care having worked for 5 years in a PCT and 13 years as a Practice Manager, before joining BEMS in 2018.
Isaac has joined the training hub team as EDI Fellow. Isaac is a portfolio GP in Swindon. He works closely with the Swindon GP Training Team as a Near Peer Fellow and also is the Lead GP at the Urgent Treatment Centre at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
Andrew is a GP Partner based in Box Surgery in Wiltshire where he has been since 2010. Andrew qualified from Birmingham University and then worked for a period of time in Vancouver Canada as a GP before moving to Bath in 2007. An experienced GP Trainer and Appraiser, Andrew is also the Senior Medical Officer for MOD Corsham and has been involved in Healthcare Commissioning for around 15 years. Until July 2022 he was the Clinical Chair for BSW CCG.
Veronica has 8 years’ experience managing Social Prescribing projects and services in Bath and NE Somerset and South Gloucestershire and 15 years’ experience working in Drug and Alcohol treatment services. Prior to these roles, she worked in Health Promotion and Health Education covering a wide range of portfolios. Her academic background is in Mental Health, Health Education and Social Policy. Veronica was awarded ‘Innovator of the Year’ by the Social Prescribing Academic Network in 2019. Veronica has now been the Personalised Care Lead at the Hub since May 2022 and is also currently working as Health Inequalities Lead in an acute hospital
Jacqui has been a registered nurse for over 40 years of which 20 years has been spent in general practice. She is a Nurse Practitioner, now specialising in respiratory care and staff development. Jacqui has been a member of the Core Project Team working with the AHSN and colleagues to improve asthma diagnosis and management following the deployment of Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) testing across our BSW region. As a GPN Fellow last year and as part of the Clinical Supervision Project, she utilised clinical supervision to improve networking and support for respiratory nurses across PCNs, particularly around the new diagnostics and pathway.
In her continued work as a GPN Fellow, Jacqui is the first Legacy Nurse across BSW and is delighted to be supporting our Preceptees new to General Practice and their Preceptors over the course of the BSW Preceptorship Programme.
Rachel has worked in the NHS for 26 years, the last seven years of which have been in BSW ICB (formally CCG). Her background is administrative management and Rachel is currently the Governance Lead and the GP Flexible Pool Lead for the BSW Training Hub. Rachel is also involved in a variety of projects within the Training Hub / wider ICB.
Kevin’s background is in diagnostic radiography and physiotherapy and also higher education. Kevin’s role is to increase placements in primary care, linking primary care with local higher education institutions. Kevin is involved with actively promoting clinical and non clinical apprenticeships and is an assessor for the FCP Roadmap.
Di has a portfolio role, splitting her time between two roles – Head of People Programme and OD in the ICB as well as Wellbeing Lead and Training Hub Programme Lead. She has worked for the NHS for 27 years in a variety of key roles linked to learning and education. Di is a qualified coach for professional and executive practice, and has a special interest in colleague health and wellbeing.
Helen has a background in education but has worked for the NHS for 7 years, initially as an administrator within the BSW ICB Quality Team, transferring to the Training Hub in 2020. Helen’s role includes coordinating CPD funding in conjunction with UWE and facilitating the Admin Network Drop-in sessions.
Liz works as a portfolio GP in Swindon and is passionate about all things Training Hub. She has over a decade of experience in various local and regional educational roles including working as Training Programme Director for the Swindon GP Training Scheme, and is the recruitment lead for GP training across the Severn footprint. Liz was previously the GP Tutor for Swindon GP Education Trust who provide education and support for GPs and members of the wider multidisciplinary primary care team.
Will is a portfolio GP with a particular interest in medical education. He is the Primary care Associate Dean for Quality in the South West with Health Education England, a GP appraiser and Education Lead for the Severn Faculty of the Royal College of GPs.
Tina’s background is in general practice nursing, emergency department nursing, health visiting and higher education lecturer. Tina’s role is to encourage newly qualified nurses to consider a career in primary care, the GPN preceptorship scheme and provide updating opportunities for practice nurses.
Jo is passionate about providing good clinical care to patients and helping all members of the primary care team to feel equipped, encouraged, inspired and supported. She works as a GP in Swindon and has a portfolio career with the Training Hub leading on the Newly Qualified GP scheme, Supporting Mentor Programme and GP retention projects.
Jim has a 28 year history in the NHS, formerly a specialist paramedic and senior manager with South Western Ambulance Service and with a particular interest in workforce development, medicolegal and education issues. His role is to support paramedics in primary care and the GP practices that employ them across the BSW region.
